Road Traffic (Grouville) (Amendment No. 11) (Jersey) Order 2023

THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE, after consultation with the Connétable of Grouville, makes this Order under Articles 62, 63, 64 and 84 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 –

1        Road Traffic (Grouville) (Jersey) Order 2002 amended

This Order amends the Road Traffic (Grouville) (Jersey) Order 2002.

2        Schedule 1 (one-way traffic routes) amended

In Schedule 1, in item 13 referring to La Sente Brée, in Column 4 there is inserted –

“a vehicle that is used to transport patients, or as an ambulance, leaving the Hollies Day Centre”.

3        Schedule 2 (prohibition of waiting) amended

In Schedule 2 –

(a)     after the entry “La Rue du Pont” there is inserted –

“La Rue Hilgrove

North side.”;

 

(b)     for the entry “La Sente Brée” there is substituted –

“La Sente Brée

Both sides (from Le Chemin des Maltières for 20 yards in an easterly direction).

 

West side (between the north western corner of the property known as the Hollies Day Centre and its junction with La Rue Hilgrove).

 

East side (from the north western corner of the property known as the Hollies Day Centre for 10 yards in a southerly direction).”.

4        Schedule 6 (parking of vehicles displaying parking discs) amended

In Part A1 of Schedule 6 after item 1 there is inserted –

“1A.

La Rue Hilgrove

South side (from the junction with Gorey Village Main Road for 32 yards in a westerly direction).”.

5        Minor Amendments

The Schedule contains minor amendments.

6        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Grouville) (Amendment No. 11) (Jersey) Order 2023 and comes into force 7 days after it is made.

(Article 5)

Minor amendments

1        Article 2 (Interpretation) amended

In Article 2 –

(a)     the definition “road” is deleted;

(b)     the definition “Motor Traffic Law” is deleted;

(c)     after the definition “displayed” there is inserted –

“ “Motor Traffic Law” means the Motor Traffic (Jersey) Law 1935;”;

(d)     after the definition “parking disc” there is inserted –

“ “road” includes part of a road;”.

2        Article 4 (prohibition of waiting and stopping) amended

In Article 4 –

(a)     in paragraphs (1), (2), (3) and (4) for “shall” there is substituted “must”;

(b)     in paragraph (3) for “authorized” there is substituted “authorised”.

3        Article 5 (driving and stationing of certain vehicles) amended

In Article 5 –

(a)     in paragraphs (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5) for “shall” there is substituted “must”;

(b)     for paragraph (6) there is substituted –

“(6)    Paragraph (5) does not apply to the stationing of a taxi-cab on a taxi rank as defined in the Motor Traffic (Cabs – General) (Jersey) Order 2021.”.

4        Article 6 (prohibition or restriction of turns) amended

In paragraphs (1) and (2) of Article 6 for “shall” there is substituted “must”.

5        Article 7 (closing of roads to through traffic) amended

In Article 7 for “shall” there is substituted “must”.

6        Article 8 (parking of vehicles displaying parking discs) amended

In paragraphs (1) and (2) of Article 8 for “shall” there is substituted “must”.

7        Article 9 (duration of parking on certain roads) amended

In Article 9 for “shall” there is substituted “must”.

8        Article 9A (restriction on parking for period exceeding 7 days with no return for 24 hrs) amended

In Article 9A for “shall” there is substituted “must” in the 2 places it occurs.

9        Article 10 (display of disc) amended

In Article 10 for “shall” there is substituted “must”.

10      Article 11 (savings) amended

In Article 11 –

(a)     in the opening words for “shall” there is substituted “does”;

(b)     in sub-paragraph (b) for “authorized” there is substituted “authorised”.
