1. LAWS APPROVED BY THE STATES OF DELIBERATION

(a)           Sexual Offences (Bailiwick of Guernsey) (Amendment) Law, 2011
(Billet d’État No I of 2011. Approved 26.01.11)

This Law amends various provisions of the Sexual Offences (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 1983 in order to lower the age of consent for homosexual acts to 16 years.

(b)           Law Enforcement Commission (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2011
(Billet d’État No III, 2011. Approved 23.02.11)

This Law establishes a Law Enforcement Commission for the Bailiwick. The Commission's primary function is to secure the maintenance of efficient and effective law enforcement by law enforcement organisations in the Bailiwick.

(c)           Income Tax (Pension Amendments) (Guernsey) Law, 2011
(Billet d’État No VI, 2011. Approved 27.04.11)

This Law amends the law governing relief for pension contributions and the taxation of benefits arising from pension schemes.

(d)           Terrorist Asset-Freezing (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2011
(Billet d’État No VI, 2011. Approved 27.04.11)

This Law makes provision relating to the freezing of terrorist assets and largely replicates with suitable amendments in respect of the Bailiwick, the provisions of the Terrorist Asset-Freezing etc Act 2010.

(a)           Income Tax (Guernsey) (Approval of Agreements with San Marina, Greece and China) Ordinance, 2011

This Ordinance specifies the agreements providing for the obtaining and exchanging of information in relation to tax, made between the States of Guernsey and the Governments of—

(i)   Republic of San Marino, signed on the 29th September 2010,
(ii)   Hellenic Republic, signed on the 8th October 2010, and
(iii)  People's Republic of China, signed on the 27th October,
for the purposes of the Income Tax (Guernsey) Law, 1975.

(b)           Machinery of Government (Transfer of Functions) (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2011
(Billet d’État No IV of 2011. Approved 30.03.11)

This Ordinance is made under the Public Functions (Transfer and Performance) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 1991. It transfers certain functions of the Public Services Department under the Environmental Pollution (Guernsey) Law, 2004 to the Environment Department.

(c)           Public Holidays (Royal Wedding) Ordinance, 2011

This Ordinance creates a public holiday on the 29th April, 2011.

(d)           Income Tax (Exemption of Benefits) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2011
(Billet d’État No VI of 2011. Approved 27.04.11)

This Ordinance amends the Income Tax (Exemption of Benefits) Ordinance, 1995. In particular, it inserts provision enabling the Treasury and Resources Department by regulation to prescribe limitations, conditions, restrictions and qualifications in relation to any description of benefits.

(e)           Evidence in Civil Proceedings (Guernsey and Alderney) Law, 2009 (Commencement) Ordinance, 2011

This Ordinance commences the Evidence in Civil Proceedings (Guernsey and Alderney) Law, 2009 on 28th April 2011.

This Ordinance is made under the Evidence in Civil Proceedings (Guernsey and Alderney) Law, 2009 and enables the courts to give directions enabling evidence to be given in civil proceedings in Guernsey or Alderney from a location other than the courtroom.
