Judicial and Legislative Functions (Separation) (Jersey) Law 1951

A LAW to provide for the separation of judicial and legislative functions

Commencement [see endnotes]

1        Separation of functions

(1)     A Jurat shall not be disqualified for being elected to the office of Deputy, but the Jurat shall cease to hold the office of Jurat on taking the oath of Deputy.[1]

(2)     A Deputy shall not be disqualified for being appointed to the office of Jurat, but the Deputy shall cease to hold the office of Deputy on taking the oath of office of Jurat. [2]

2        Citation

This Law may be cited as the Judicial and Legislative Functions (Separation) (Jersey) Law 1951.
