THE MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE, after consultation with the Connétable of St. Helier, makes this Order under Articles 62, 63 and 64 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 –

1        Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996 amended

This Order amends the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996.

 

2        Schedule 1 (one-way traffic) amended

(1)     This Article amends Schedule 1 (one-way traffic).

(2)     In Part 1 (one-way traffic routes), after the entry relating to Bond Street there is inserted –

“Brighton Lane

Brighton Road to Rouge Bouillon”.

(3)     In Part 3 (exemptions), after the entry relating to Charing Cross there is inserted –

“Esplanade (between Weighbridge Place and Conway Street)

Omnibuses”.

3        Schedule 4 (prohibition of waiting) amended

In Schedule 4 (prohibition of waiting), in the entry relating to Parade, The (eastern arm), for the words in column 2 there is substituted –

“East side (between its junction with Union Street and a point 44 yards north)”.

4        Schedule 5 (roads closed to through traffic) amended

In Schedule 5 (roads closed to through traffic), after the entry relating to Old Don Road there is inserted –

“Old St. John’s Road

All times”.

5        Schedule 6 (pedestrian roads – closing to, and restricted use by, vehicular traffic) amended

(1)     This Article amends Schedule 6 (pedestrian roads – closing to, and restricted use by, vehicular traffic).

(2)     In Part 1 (roads closed to vehicular traffic) –

(a)     before the entry relating to Broad Street (between Conway Street and Charing Cross) there is inserted –

“Brighton Lane

at all times”;

(b)     the entry relating to Charing Cross is deleted;

(c)     the entry relating to Esplanade (between Conway Street and Weighbridge Place) is deleted.

(3)     In Part 3 (vehicles exempt from restrictions) –

(a)     before the entry relating to Broad Street (between Conway Street and Charing Cross) there is inserted –

“Brighton Lane

Pedal cycles”;

(b)     the entry relating to Esplanade is deleted.

6        Schedule 8 (parking places on roads) amended

In Part 2 of Schedule 8 (paying parking places – 1 hour limit), in the entry for Parade, The (eastern arm), for the words in column 2 there is substituted –

“West side (between a point 51 yards north of its junction with Union Street and a point 61 yards further north)”.

7        Schedule 10 amended

In Part 1 of Schedule 10 (parking of vehicles on roads for loading and unloading) –

(a)     the entry relating to Bath Street is deleted;

(b)     after the entry relating to Hilgrove Street there is inserted –

“Hill Street

North side (between a point 35 yards west of its junction with La Motte Street and a point 15 yards further west)

20 minutes

5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday”.

8        Schedule 11 (parking of motor cycles and mopeds) amended

In Schedule 11 (parking of motor cycles and mopeds) –

(a)     the entry relating to The Parade is deleted;

(b)     after the entry relating to Parade Road there is inserted –

“Parade, The (eastern arm)

West side (between a point 29 yards north of its junction with Union Street and a point 9 yards further north)

 

West side (between a point 45 yards north of its junction with Union Street and a point 6 yards further north)”.

9        Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (St. Helier) (Amendment No. 39) (Jersey) Order 2023 and comes into force 7 days after it is made.
