THE CHIEF MINISTER makes this Order under Article 29A of the States of Jersey Law 2005 after complying with paragraph (3) of that Article –
1 Minister for Children and Education renamed as Minister for Children and Families
(1) In Article 1 (current list of Ministerial offices) of the States of Jersey (Ministerial Offices) Order 2022 for “the Minister for Children and Education” there is substituted “the Minister for Children and Families”.
(2) Schedule 1 contains amendments to reflect the new name for the Ministerial Office, in relation to the functions being retained by that Ministerial Office.
2 Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning established
(1) In Article 1 (current list of Ministerial offices) of the States of Jersey (Ministerial Offices) Order 2022 after “the Minister for Children and Families” (as substituted by Article 1(1) of this Order) there is inserted “the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning”.
(2) Schedule 2 contains amendments that transfer some of the functions of the Minister for Children and Families to the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning.
3 Minister for Housing and Communities renamed as Minister for Housing
(1) In Article 1 (current list of Ministerial offices) of the States of Jersey (Ministerial Offices) Order 2022 for “the Minister for Housing and Communities” there is substituted “the Minister for Housing”.
(2) Schedule 3 contains amendments to reflect the new name for the Ministerial Office.
4 Financial services functions transferred from Chief Minister to Minister for External Relations
Schedule 4 contains amendments that transfer financial services functions from the Chief Minister to the Minister for External Relations.
5 Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the Changes to Ministerial Offices (Jersey) Amendment Order 2024 and comes into force at 9.30 a.m. on 27th February 2024.
